Just got back from yet another wonderful weekend in the mountains. This time Audrey and I went up to Beech Mtn (near Boone, NC) to visit with my grandparents, dad, uncle, aunt, and cousin who were all up there for president's day weekend. Sadly, this is to be our last time in that special place, as Ginger is selling the house. :( We have spent the week after Christmas in their house all together for the last 25+ years, and so it is that I grew up with half my love of winter coming from here. It will be sad to see it go. But I don't have the proper energy to write a reflective post on that subject. I just wanted to say that the photos are up on my photo page (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lunar_ellipsis/). Just click on the album "Beech Mtn Trip" (which appears on the right). There are some beautiful ones from the hikes we did on Rough Ridge and near Julian Price Lake (don't remember the name of that hike). All was well and everyone had a great time (especially Maddie!) :)
