Audrey and I witnessed the aftermath of a train going off the tracks in the Old City Friday... check out these videos for some fun commentary. :) Stupidly, I ruined our opportunity to be on the news by interjecting quickly when the reporters came over "Oh, I don't have anything interesting to say." Then I kicked myself when I realized I missed my chance to be on TV talking about what the train sounded like when it went off the tracks-- (it sounds just like a tornado, of course). :) (For those of you who don't find this funny, it's an inside joke with some friends of mine about how "you might be a redneck if... you've been interviewed on the news multiple times talkin' about what the tornado sounded like before it hit your trailer." :) And we were jokin' about how, if a tornado did hit our house, we wouldn't know it since we live so close to the traintrack and get used to the sound of them passing by. Then Patrick wrote a song called "Where were you (when the tornado come)" which incoporates many of these hilarious principles. :) So yeah, I screwd it up... coulda been a local celebrity on the news! And I missed a rare opportunity to get some publicity for our basnd, I think. I coulda said how we were gonna write a song about the incident. Stupid introversion.
p.s. Looks like they still don't know what caused the derailment, but here's a breif article about the incident from the News Sentinel: http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2008/mar/23/tracks-reopen-after-derailment/

I laughed until tears flowed from my eyes!!!!!
"Am-ba-lances" Too much!!! :)
Brilliant reporting and cinematography. A poignant rendition of this tragic event that brought the people of an American town closer together during these dark, troubled times. (read: I laughed my ass off.)
